Terms of Service
Last updated: November 2, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of SpudBoost ("we", "us"). By installing or using SpudBoost, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use SpudBoost.
1. What SpudBoost does
SpudBoost changes Windows and game settings to try to improve performance: registry values, power plans, services, scheduled tasks, network adapter settings, startup apps, graphics driver profiles and game configuration files. It can also close and lower the priority of other programs, delete temporary files and remove optional Windows apps when you ask it to.
- SpudBoost saves the original value before each change so you can undo it, and can create a Windows restore point. Some actions can't be undone this way, such as deleting junk files and removing apps.
- You choose which changes to make. Read each description before switching something on.
- Results depend on your PC. We don't promise any particular FPS, ping or performance gain.
2. Games and anti-cheat
SpudBoost doesn't inject code into games, read or change game memory, or modify protected game files. It only changes settings files and Windows settings that the game and Windows already let you change.
- You are responsible for following the rules of every game and platform you play. Some games may treat certain changes, such as stretched resolutions or settings edited outside the game, differently. Check if you're unsure.
- We aren't responsible for bans, suspensions or other actions taken by game publishers or platforms.
3. Use at your own risk
SpudBoost is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, reliability or that it will be free of errors.
- Back up anything important before making system changes.
- To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, data loss, system problems or lost profits from using SpudBoost. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for SpudBoost in the 12 months before the claim, or US $10 if you paid nothing.
- Some places don't allow these limits. There, they apply only as far as the law allows.
4. Things you must not do
- Decompile, reverse engineer, copy, modify or redistribute SpudBoost, or sell it, except where the law specifically allows it.
- Use SpudBoost to break the law or harm other people.
- Share harmful, illegal or misleading content in configs.
5. Privacy
SpudBoost collects as little as possible:
- On your PC: settings, backups, play sessions and benchmark results are stored in your user folder and never uploaded.
- Internet requests: SpudBoost checks GitHub for updates, gets game info and pictures from Steam's public store, and pings game servers when you test your ping. These services see your IP address like any website does.
- This website: uses no cookies, ads or trackers. It asks GitHub for the latest version so the download button always works.
- We don't sell your data and don't show ads.
6. Shared configs
When you publish a .spudboost config, you let anyone who gets it use it. Installing someone else's config never changes anything until you load it and confirm the preview. You are responsible for the configs you choose to load.
7. Changes and ending
- We may update these terms. If the changes are important, SpudBoost will ask you to accept the new version before you continue. Using SpudBoost after that means you accept them.
- We may change or stop SpudBoost at any time.
- You can stop using SpudBoost at any time by uninstalling it. Changes you made can be undone first from Backup & Undo.
